Jesus Wants the Rose

It's been quite a few years since I first saw this video. It was the first time I ever heard of Matt Chandler and at the time I couldn't have known what a significant role his teaching would play in our lives. But I do remember watching this and thinking, "This guy gets it. I wanna hear more of what he is preaching". 

One of the things Matthew Darling and I respect so much about Matt Chandler is his willingness to call out those of us living comfortably in Americanized Christianity. This short video is just a tenny tiny example of the work Matt Chandler does to speak real truth into the lives of both people who think they've got it all figured out and the people that well know they have nothing at all figured out. 

Jesus came to save the sick, not the healthy. I have to claim my sickness if I want His healing. I have to claim my death if I want His life. I have to humble myself enough to admit that I too am that beaten and weary rose, so that He make pick me, embrace me, and breath life back into me. 

He wants us, just as we are.
